Might employers in the legal profession be more responsive to your application next year?
Robert Half Legal this week released its hiring outlook for the first part of 2011 and it almost sounds too good to be true.
About 30 percent of respondents said they planned to add legal jobs – mostly lawyers and paralegals – in the first quarter of next year. Only 1 percent anticipated a cut in their workforce.
The fastest growing areas of law projected to grow are bankruptcy and foreclosure, litigation, and healthcare, according to the survey.
The staffing firm polled 100 lawyers at firms with 20 or more employees, and 100 in-house counsel working at companies with at least 1,000 employees.
In an environment that pushes firms like Howrey and Skadden to continue to chop people, you have to wonder just how much hiring we can look forward to.
