File this under completely predictable developments. Apple v. Samsung will not be videotaped.
The patent suit over smartphones and tablet computers was a candidate for the Northern District of California's camera pilot program. A media outlet had requested taping the case, which is set for trial July 30. And U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh was willing to preside before the cameras.
But just like every other time a case was up for taping, a party to the suit balked, so no audience outside of the San Jose courtroom will get to see the trial.
A note that hit the docket late Tuesday does not disclose which side, or if both parties, opposed having cameras in court.

A observe that hit the docket overdue Wednesday does not reveal which side, or if both events, compared having camcorders in court.

I doubt that neither Apple nor Samsung was willing to have this case videotaped. What do they have to gain? I can think of a lot that they have to lose.
