Fast-growing San Francisco social gaming company Zynga has been wheeling and dealing – and that’s been sweet for Dewey & LeBoeuf.
Zynga recently swooped into Asia with its acquisition of Beijing-based social gaming company XPD Media, a deal that was announced last week. Representing Zynga were Silicon Valley Dewey partners Keith Flaum and Rick Climan, and three Dewey lawyers in Hong Kong/Beijing. (Fenwick Silicon Valley partner Ted Wang and Seattle associate Jessie Minier advised XPD.)
And Wednesday, Zynga announced a partnership with Yahoo that will make its games available on Yahoo’s global network. Silicon Valley Dewey partner Eric Reifschneider advised Zynga there.
Reggie Davis, Zynga’s GC, said in an interview yesterday he’s hoping (sub. req.) to hire one more deal lawyer soon to round out his team of five in-house attorneys. That doesn’t mean less will be farmed out – the legal work will just be better managed, he said. “Over time, we may end up leveraging more outside counsel,” said Davis.

So, is Farmville going to be featured on Yahoo games now?
