Lehman Brothers has been doling out the cash to lawyers and advisors in a big way since it filed for Chapter 11 in 2008.
According to The Am Law Daily, the Lehman Brothers estate has written checks to firms for almost $750 million and may be on its way to hitting the $1 billion mark.
Weil, Gotshal & Manges is the big winner, having billed $165 million since the bankruptcy filing. Jenner Block has billed just under $50 million, in part by producing the 2,000-plus page report on how exactly Lehman collapsed. You can read more about that report here, or if you've got a spare week, you can read the mega-expensive report in its entirety on Jenner's website.
