According to a report from the National Law Journal, securities class actions are experiencing a rebound. After a downtick in 2008, the suits "rebounded slightly" in 2009. The total dollar amount of the settlements grew from $2.75 billion in 2008 to $3.8 billion in 2009 - a 35% increase.
Leading the firms in involvement is Coughlin Stoia. The San Diego firm represented 27% of the plaintiffs in cases that settled in 2009.
