What Recession? Gibson and Irell's 2009 Results Sunny

Our sister publication, Am Law Daily, has recently published the 2009 financial results from two notable California firms: Irell & Manella and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

Profits per partner at the former increased by 27% in 2009, to $2.9 million. The increase resulted from an expansion of overall revenue and a contraction in partner ranks.

Increases at Gibson were more modest, but it too saw its PPP and revenue rise last year. Revenue was up nearly 4 percent and PPP grew by 1.6%.
