You may have heard some buzz today about UC San Diego's preliminary discussions to aquire Cal Western Law School. The San Diego Union-Tribune first reported it, and then WSJ Law Blog picked up the story.
According to the Union-Tribune, both schools have formed a "committee to explore the concept."
Not to put a damper on what the WSJ considers to be big news out of our little state, but back in April our now-defunct sister blog, The Shark, reported the same kind of news. Apparently, news of a merger between the two schools surfaces almost annually, without any real results.
We'll of course keep you posted if this committee actually resolves to do anything. If not, see you next year with the same report.
