Google, already experiencing blacklash from its new feature Buzz, has been dealt another PR blow: a class action lawsuit filed in L.A. that claims the company violated electronic communication laws, according to Mashable.
Filed on behalf of a Florida woman and Harvard Law School student, the complaint levies several allegations against the Internet giant: that it broke the law when it shared personal data without the consent of users, that it involuntarily signed all users of its Gmail service up for Buzz, and that these missteps could aid in stalking and other criminal activities. The later stems from reported incidents of individuals using data involuntarily shared by users to gain knowledge of their whereabouts and activities.
Google declined to comment until it had been served with the complaint.
