We noted yesterday donations being made for relief in Haiti from some of the bigger names in Bay Area law. Today we’ve got word of a broader effort intended to bring the entire legal community together.
Morrison & Foerster has teamed up with Oakland’s Kazan, McClain, Lyons, Greenwood & Harley to raise $1 million for Haiti.
The two firms have launched The Bay Area Lawyers for Haiti Relief Fund and are encouraging all lawyers in the Bay to donate.

"Our profession is enhanced in the public eye when we band to help others," said Arturo Gonzalez, president of the Bar Association of San Francisco and a partner at MoFo.
As a start, the Kazan McClain foundation will donate $50,000 to the fund and the Morrison & Foerster Foundation will match employee and partner donations for a total donation of more than $50,000.
The San Francisco Foundation will administer all donations to the fund, and distribute to four organizations with track records in Haiti: Oxfam America, Doctors Without Borders, Partners in Health and Save the Children.
All donations ($250 minimum) can be sent to Bay Area Lawyer's Haiti Relief Fund c/o SF Foundation 225 Bush St. Suite 500, SF 94104.
