BETWEEN JOBS An occasional look at where all the jobs have gone in this economy of mass destruction. |
Via the omniscient gaze of Legal Blog Watch, Legal Pad learns about RecruiterEsq.com, the blog of Melissa Sachs, and her new project: A roundup, to be updated every few weeks, of all the BigLaw lateral opportunities she can find. She starts out pretty well, with dozens of jobs, and this is before the firms figure out to go to her with their postings. Expect it to get better.
Legal Pad took a few minutes to troll through the national listings, arranged neatly into a table, to see whether there were many opportunities in the Golden State. Are you an associate doing IP, or labor and employment, in San Diego (or more accurately, would you like to be one?)? Or maybe you're a Silicon Valley associate who does litigation (one position), IP (two), or tech transactions (two). There's a listing for an energy/eco lawyer in San Francisco, and several Orange County gigs. San Jose's hiring, and apparently Los Angeles craves litigators like a teenage girl craves vampire romance novels.
And those openings are just what we saw in the first half of the listings (before we got hungry, for some reason, and wandered into the kitchen). So if you have no job, hate your job, or suspect your job hates you, bookmark the site and check back regularly.
