Skadden associate Stacy Kray just made every lawyer without a life weep and want to go hide.
Not only is she working for most profitable firm in the country, she can also sing, write songs, and get featured in the The AmLaw Litigation Daily for doing so.
Kray, a senior associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, penned a sultry homage to Skadden after the Litigation Daily put a call out for submissions. “Skadden, You Gladden my Heart,” had made its round on the legal blogs by Friday afternoon. Here's a link to the song.
Check out Kray’s Web site. And just in case you don’t want to hear about how great Skadden is, here is some of her other music. And now, the lyrics to the smash-hit-to-be:
SKADDEN, YOU GLADDEN MY HEART
Skadden, you gladden my heart.
You stand out, an army apart.
Supporting your fellows,
Turning foes yellow.
Skadden, you gladden my heart.
Skadden, the fads you have spawned
With mavericks the likes of Joe Flom.
Impostors aplenty,
But you’re still holding steady.
Skadden, you gladden my heart.
And our IP lawyers, now the stars of lore!
My dismissal rests on you.
Was it wrong to use this old song form?
Did I steal the blues?
Skadden, don’t be angry with my song.
I penned it with time off the clock.
And I mean it when I say
I hope you’ll let me stay.
Skadden, you gladden . . . my heart.
