The Santa Clara County board of supervisors has appointed (.pdf) Miguel Marquez to be acting county counsel. His new title became effective on Monday.
Marquez replaces former longtime County Counsel Ann Ravel, who recently left for a high level position in President Barack Obama’s Justice Department.
In May, we predicted that Marquez, considered Ravel’s right-hand man, would be picked to succeed her. Marquez is a former San Francisco school district general counsel, and before that he served as a deputy city attorney.
