Snarky Blog (not us) Sneers at Lawyer

Virtual Law Partners Lawyers rarely make the pages of our favorite Silicon Valley tabloid, Valleywag.

But today, Zach Bogue, a lawyer at Craig Johnson’s Virtual Law Partners, gets a big fat backhand from the Valleywaggers. The reason: He’s getting hitched with Marissa Mayer, a top exec at Google. Here’s what they had to say about the newly-engaged pair:

“Is she marrying down? No question. Mayer was employee no. 20 at Google, and she once dated Google cofounder Larry Page. Her IPO riches alone make her Valley royalty. Bogue buys and manages apartments for rich people, a business he somewhat brazenly dubs "private equity." His business is called "Montara Capital Partners," which makes him sound like a venture capitalist. He is also a lawyer, sort of, which is definitely several rungs down Silicon Valley's social ladder.”

For our part, Legal Pad congratulates Bogue and Mayer both.  But we sure know now where lawyers stand in Silicon Valley. So, please, do yourself a favor and stop sending flowers and chocolates to Steve Jobs or Meg Whitman, lest you be mocked by clever web-dwellers everywhere.
