Lest our dear readers think Legal Pad will allow a gaggle of federal employees, who are guaranteed jobs for life, gather in a mountain resort with no press supervision, fear not! Your faithful correspondent travels to dreary-sounding Sun Valley, Idaho, to bring you the various outdoors exploits of the federal judiciary at this year’s Ninth Circuit conference.
Starting Monday afternoon, you will be treated to dispatches about executive power, Bill Alsup spreading the gospel about the next generation of lawyers, and a panel on “The Nature of Fire in the West.” We kid you not. Plus, our competitors at The Daily Journal report this morning that Alex Kozinski nemesis Cyrus Sanai has apparently been retained by the LA Weekly to cover the shindig. Circuit spokesman Dave Madden did not answer Friday when we asked whether Sanai will be allowed in with credentials. Either way, we’re bringing our camera.
