Jim Rishwain's Good Answer

Where do you work?  Apparently that’s a question employees at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman (hint: You work here.) need help answering. Thankfully, there’s a video for the firm’s forgetful staff — the theme of which is finding an “answer to that standard question.”

The orientation video is hosted by Chairman Jim Rishwain, who matches stiffness with intensity in a really interesting way. It may not be a theme song, but it’s definitely worth a watch, if only for all the pastel golf shirts in the eighties-era firm retreat group photos.  There are a lot of retreat group photos in the history section of the talk, and lots of empty office space shots in the rest.  There's not a shot of any lawyers doing any of the strategic, client-services-oriented, creative and innovative lawyer stuff that has Rishwain so worked up.

On the up side, the video opens and closes with some fantastically smooth jazz (for all those hep cats working at the firm).  We particularly enjoyed the random approach Rishwain took with his hand movements and in applying stress to syllables. Drinking game suggestion: One shot every time Rishwain says "strategic."
