Former Northern District Judge Spencer Williams passed away Jan. 3. He was 85 years old. A Nixon appointee, Williams had served in Gov. Ronald Reagan’s cabinet. Before that, he worked in the Santa Clara County counsel’s office for several years.
“Fairness and equity, that’s what drove him,” son Pete Williams told the Sacramento Bee.
