We know times are tough for bankruptcy lawyers, but this is just ridiculous.
Our good friends at KCRA Channel 3 reported a couple of days ago that a Sacramento bankruptcy attorney has — yes, you guessed it — gone bankrupt.
Clients complained that they showed up only to find the offices of the American Attorney Center abandoned earlier this week. So KCRA ace reporter Richard Sharp tracked down the owner, Michael O’Neal, who was at his house sporting a T-shirt and looking kinda haggard.
“There’s no more income from the bankruptcy business,” he tells the camera.
But it turns out that it’s not just the business that’s having trouble.
O’Neal pleaded guilty last spring to filing a false tax return for his business. He and three others were accused of “skimming almost $1.79 million from 1999 through 2001, and that the amount of under-reported corporation income tax was about $607,000,” the Sacramento Business Journal reported.
The case didn’t escape the notice of the State Bar, which placed O’Neal on interim suspension last June. His current status: “not eligible to practice law” — which kind of makes you wonder what he was doing before he shut his office down …
But no matter the trouble with the law, the bar and now being bankrupt — at least he knows a good lawyer.

The main reason of having tough time for
bankruptcy lawyers is finding only the offices of the American Attorney Center. But if we talk about income then obviously there is not so much income to financial draw back.

I paid all of my fees in full and only had my credit counseling to do when I suddenly found myself with out any representation what so ever and no refund forthcoming. I am out over $2000 dollars and still have to find a lawyer to represent me. These guys deserve a trip to prison but they won't ever see the inside of one.

Indeed they would see the prison if they toured Alcatraz Kevin, but like Roger said, most people who take advantage of bankruptcy don't get the outcome they deserve.
